Plasma, a needed donation
Plasma is the liquid part of blood. Yellow in color, it is 90% water, salts, lipids, hormones and, above all, important proteins.
In Canada, as well as in Quebec, plasma donations are insufficient to meet the demand. The health care system must import from the United States. And the needs don’t change, even in times of pandemic. Did you know that one person’s plasma donation saves an average of 3 to 4 people a year?
